FAQs
We do not have a minimum label quantity, but our minimum order amount is typically around $200. How many labels you can get for that amount will vary depending on the design of your label.
We keep our focus on providing great printing but have a look at our designer directory for your graphic design needs.
Our preferred file format is a high resolution PDF but we also accept Adobe Illustrator documents. Ensure that type is converted to outlines and all links are embedded. File artboard should be created to exact label size and include appropriate bleeds. If label bleeds, it must extend at least 1/16″ outside the label size.
For more information, view our Artwork File Standards guide.
We primarily use CMYK inks. Our HP presses can achieve accurate PANTONE emulations up to 97% using additional HP Indigo Electroinks (orange, violet, and green). This extra color range allows us to provide a significantly broader gamut of color than can be achieved with CMYK 4-color process printing alone.
For more information, view our Things To Know About Color guide.
Four-color process is a conventional method of printing. CMYK stands for cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. Using a combination of these four colors, printers can recreate most colors in the PANTONE gamut.
We do our best to match your color swatches if you supply them. We can also provide hard copy proofs right off the press.
We have a variety of stocks in house, and access to many, many more. The list of materials we can’t print on is probably smaller than the list of materials we can.
We have several, free samples that our team can send to you to test, feel, and try! Chat with us now in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen or submit a Request a Sample form here.
Your size should be determined by your application. If you’re starting from scratch, we recommend cutting pieces of paper and placing them on the product until you find the right size.
Any time we have to order a die it is considered custom. The client is responsible for the one time order charge, but if the die ever needs replaced Blue Label pays for it. If you need to go this route, we recommend speaking to one of our Blue Label reps to place your order.
We supply a PDF proof for every job we print. You can also have a ‘live’ or ‘hard copy’ proof straight from the press for a minimal charge.
A proof is a representation of your label. On a PDF proof, you should check that all text, color separations, spacing, and barcodes are current. On a hard copy proof you should check all of the above and color.
It’s simple, we do not use plates!
Our digital printing technique uses a ‘blanket’ to transfer ink to the label material. The blanket is heated, which melts and blends the ElectroInk particles into a smooth film. This produces an image that is completely defined on the blanket and then transferred to the material by direct contact.
Yes, our digital presses can print multiple versions in the same run. Because each project is unique, versions charges will vary.
